There are various definitive milestones and waypoints in the process of accomplishing a goal, founding a company, creating a product, building a relationship, etc. But starting is not one of them.
There is no single point of inception when initiating, acting upon, and starting an idea. One burst of inertia is never enough to get something off of the ground and into flight for the long term.
Ergo:
- Starting, in and of itself, is a process – a series of initiations and initiatives backed by action.
- Starting is an entire phase, not a single event.
- Starting is a continual decision to implement an idea again and again and again.
When the greater goal is clear, don’t overlook the breadth of phase one. Ironically, starting is a long-term commitment.
Be a Maverick!

Starting is not an event…
Wow!! that just hit me!!! … I, personally,am finally embarking on a project at the dance studio that I have wanted to implement for many years — time is of the essence — fear of failure is no longer an option! I am nervous to ask for money but I believe I’m finally up for it. Kent this is thanks to you and your work — I am ONE person that you have turned around from a wallflower to a strong bloom standing strong and alone in a storm. I love this this post. Thanks gc
So glad you found the post insightful and that you are now in a strong bloom. And thank you for the kind words Georgina. A strong bloom is a foundation for many more great things to come. Congrats.
