It’s a very well known fact: There are only 24 hours in a day. This, of course, is a fixed limitation.
Naturally, time management tends to take center stage for those seeking to become more productive. This is understandable and worthwhile, but also somewhat myopic because no matter what strategy takes hold, time still passes. This is what makes it an inflexible constant. In other words, while time management serves a very important purpose it cannot bring about exponential returns.
Fortunately, time itself is not the only measure of productivity. Even the best time management tactics cannot combat physical or mental fatigue. If your energy is low, it doesn’t matter if you have a lot of time available. The important question shifts from “How can I effectively manage my units of time?” to “How do I get more from the time I have?” A slight but significant difference.
In truth, energy is the only time expander – the only way to boost ROI. It’s not increased time that gives the most productive people an upper-hand. Instead, it’s increased energy.
A Maverick knows that the body is not merely a vehicle for the mind, it’s part it. Therefore, exercise, sleep cycles, and diet become an integral part of the most productive Mavericks.
