Solving problems is all about getting closer to the issue, right? Not necessarily.
We often assume that those most familiar and most knowledgeable about a problem are the best people to solve it. Ironically, however, many insights do not result from increased research or more time spent analyzing.
Sometimes it takes an outsider with a fresh perspective – someone free of expectations, assumptions, and beliefs about the existing circumstances – to reexamine the situation and suggest an entirely new solution based on a entirely new perspective.
Sometimes the answer is not to push harder, but to pull back; not to get closer, but to seek a higher vantage point.
Be a Maverick,

This is always on my mind. I agree with every single word!
Legacy thinking is a big road block to innovation. Failure to innovate will inevitably lead to failure of your business. An “outside” perspective is essential.
Love your line, “Failure to innovate will inevitably lead to failure of your business.” Today, this has never been more true. Thanks Matthew.
