When you change the way you look at things…

What we see is not dependent on what is actually there to be seen — it’s entirely dependent is our perspective (Tweet this quote). This is why people can experience the same circumstances and have completely different observations and conclusions about what they experienced. Here is a short video documenting a very well-known example.

As much as we hate to admit it, our brains are easily fooled. Maybe this is why we’re fascinated by mind games, magic tricks, and optical illusions. The good news is, discernment can be strengthened with practice and knowledge. By learning more about ourselves, our brains, our tendencies, and the unique circumstances we encounter, we can reveal many options we never previously recognized. It all begins with a genuine sense of curiosity… an urge to take one more moment in reflection, to take second glance, and to ask one more question.

Life is much more than meets the eye.  As author Wayne Dyer puts it, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” (Tweet this quote).

As I’ve written/drawn in an earlier post, Perception is the problem… and the opportunity.

It’s been said many millennia ago, but it must be repeated frequently to be embraced and mastered: Change your perception and you change what’s possible.
