Leaders are emotional risk takers
Most attempts to avoid risk can be traced back to protecting one’s emotional state. There are numerous labels for negative feelings that could result from taking a risk: embarrassment, loss, pain, anger, jealousy, disappointment, loneliness, emptiness, insignificance, despair, and countless more.
For many, these painful states of mind are enough to keep them in a familiar place opting for a path of comfort, security and predictability. But not surprisingly, this is also the sure path to a rather apathetic existence.
Mavericks understand that emotions are the amplifiers of experience. The most exhilarating, empowering, and memorable emotions involve some form of risk. Through a willingness to put ourselves out there we can enjoy the deepest connection, feel the most intense elation, and experience the rapture of gratitude.
Life is a journey of emotions; the most precious of which await those willing to invest themselves emotionally into their work and relationships. This is indeed, is one of the truest acts of courage.
Be a Maverick!

So true. And, it can be scary to take emotional risks – especially having been betrayed, or disappointed or hurt in the past.
Many people today believe that cynicism requires courage. … It is innocence and open-heartedness that requires the true courage …(Erica Jong)
You raise a great point Meg. I’ll be posting more on this topic in the near future.
What a great blog. I spend hours on the net reading blogs on various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly, you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
Hi Kent,
Thanks you for that! It helps so much with acceptance … of myself as the maverick who is enjoying life fully … and of a couple of others connected to me. If I didn’t just simply accept as they are, I would waste energy and take my focus away from my passion and purpose!

That takes courage Trisha, but the world is better for it. Thank you.
That was a great boost. Thanks for that!
No problem Raz. I’m glad it moved you.
